After reviewing its downtown Saint Paul portfolio and future growth needs, Ecolab consolidated multiple locations into a new global headquarters. The company acquired and renovated the former Travelers building, creating a more open and collaborative work environment. The project allowed Ecolab to unify its teams in a flexible, modern space aligned with it’s long-term strategy.
Given the significance of both parties, the transaction required a balanced, mutually beneficial outcome to reach agreement. Ecolab also sought to maximize the value of existing improvemetst while making targeted upgrades to support evolving workplace needs.
NTH worked closely with the seller’s broker to align priorities and structure a successful transaction. The team negotiated shared use of key amenities, including cafeteria and childcare facilities. Following the acquisition, NTH partnered with Ecolab and the design team to evaluate renovation options and prioritize the highest-impact investments. This approach resulted in a workspace that reflects Ecolab’s brand and supports its workplace strategy.
Ecolab headquarters continues to serve the organization well and has become an important anchor for that part of downtown Saint Paul.
