MacPhail Center for Music
Project Objectives:
Create a new "home" to meet MacPhail's unique space, acoustic, and technology requirements.
Challenges:
Produce a facility that honored MacPhail's historic community presence and fulfilled acoustic and technology requirements for studio and performance spaces while adhering to a modest budget.
Unique Solution:
Nelson, Tietz & Hoye assisted MacPhail in the sale of their previous building and in the negotiations to purchase the land for the new building and secure grant and bond funding from the State of Minnesota and City of Minneapolis. Nelson, Tietz & Hoye worked closely with the architect, general contractor and MacPhail throughout design and construction of a new 55,000 sf facility, which opened in January 2008.
